The Story

Created during a six week residency at the Fresh Pond Apartment Community in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this vibrant acrylic and mixed media piece explores the diverse meanings of home. To welcome a global group of participants, project materials were translated into Amharic, Bengali, Gujarati, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Punjabi Gurmukhi, and Spanish. The resulting artwork depicts a bright, colorful interior filled with a well stocked pantry, fresh fruit, and festive decorations, offering a universally welcoming space for anyone to step into.
