“Tulips by the Shore” is a beautiful original artwork by resident artist Janice Elizabeth Barber Francis, captured during a special collaborative session featuring visiting artist and photographer Melissa Diane Clayton.
Melissa generously brought some of her large scale prints into the studio for the class to build upon, which inspired Janice to create a striking landscape over a dark background (a companion piece that will be coming soon to this site once framing is complete!).
Immediately following that deep exploration, Janice moved onto this 8×10” canvas panel. Moving with her signature speed and intuitive confidence, she let this serene composition flow right out of her, pairing a peaceful coastal landscape backdrop with a cluster of vibrant red tulips blooming along the waterfront.
