This original mixed media painting is a sixteen year collaboration with my younger self. It began in 2010 as a somber study of dried flowers and has developed into a layered study of floral forms in rich reds and verdant greens. Painted passages and textured collage interact across the surface, where bold blooms and overlapping leaves create depth and contrast. Bright pinks and scarlets push forward against muted foliage, while patterned papers and translucent washes add tactile interest.
The composition moves between abstract and botanical, offering both energy and calm in equal measure. Ideal as a striking focal point for a living area, bedroom, or office, this piece brings color and character to your space.
There will not be any prints made of this piece. You can see the subtle ridges of the vintage magazine pages beneath the paint and the exact, instinctive brushstrokes that transformed the floral arrangement.
